Lot Description
A late Victorian gold garnet necklace, circa 1890. Designed as a series of openwork quatrefoil links and scrolling panel spacers, each set with oval and circular garnet cabochons, to the concealed push clasp. Length 42.3cms. Weight 38.2gms.

Condition Report
The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. A couple of the hollow links are slightly squashed to the reverse. Slight wear to some of front of the links. Small white solder discolouration to link near clasp. Many garnets suspected replacement, discolouration and/or glue to some mounts. Please see important notices for purchasers in the catalogue for Coloured Gemstones. The garnets are a purple through red hue. One superfluous garnet trapped in a quatrefoil link. One garnet with noticeable chips.
