A Howard & Sons deep-buttoned 'club' armchair
Late 19th century, of waisted back 'Bridgewater' type, the overstuffed narrow back and slightly turned-out arms on a deep bowfront seat and tapering square section front legs, one rear leg stamped '7913 7418 HOWARD & SONS LTD BERNERS ST' on brass swivel castors stamped "HOWARD & SONS LTD LONDON, 28" seat width x 31" high, (71cm x 79cm), (requires reupholstery).
