Lot Description
A fine 19th century French champleve enamel and porcelain clock garniture.
The movement by Louis Boname, Selencourt, Doubs, the porcelain decorated by Collot, Paris. The clock having a 3.75" (9.5cm) cream chapter ring, the two-train movement with Boname exhibition stamp, numbered 89775, striking on a coiled gong. The case with shaped enamel surmount and sides framing a porcelain panel of Cupid and Psyche, raised on a shaped enamelled apron with integral swept bracket feet, the sides and rear with bevelled glazing, 12.5" (31.5cm) high, with brass bob pendulum; together with a matching pair of urns, each with waisted enamelled neck, porcelain body painted with a female and attendant, musical trophies to the reverse, between cast mask handles on enamelled socle and base as per the clock, 10", (25.5cm) high.
A very similar set with Japy Freres movement and mercurial pendulum was sold in these rooms, 2nd April 2012, lot 749.

Condition Report
Dial - chapter ring diagonally cracked between 3 and 4, small crack between 7 and 8.
Case - Minor rubbing to brass lacquer but otherwise very good. Enamel appears to be intact. Base plate is loose.
