A good mid 18th century figured walnut and mulberry-cased 8-day longcase clock
Samuel Honychurch, London, circa 1760
The 12-inch break-arched brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre with subsidiary seconds ring over an axe-head cartouche engraved "S. Honychurch LONDON", and a calendar square, all within baroque mask and scroll spandrels, the arch with silvered Strike/Silent ring between sea serpents, the knopped five-pillar movement rack-striking on a bell, the figured case, perhaps earlier, with oak carcase, having a break-arched hood with crossgrain-moulded cavetto cornice over fluted columns with brass capitals, the moulded walnut-crossbanded mulberry trunk door on a conforming panelled base and plinth, 86.5", (220cm) high.

Condition Report
Dial - silvered rings lightly tarnished otherwise good.
Movement - appears sound but untested, sold as seen.
Case - metal strip to roof arch. Minor veneer cracking to arch, two wider cracks to top of trunk, some bowing to sides. Overall good honest condition.
