Lot Description
A late Victorian silver heart shaped trinket dish with scroll embossed detail and a central cartouche with personal engraving, hallmarked Henry Matthews, Birmingham 1897. Together with a turn of the century pair of asymmetrical trinket dishes, with scroll and shell borders, hallmarked Deakin & Francis Ltd, Birmingham 1903, and a modern silver open salt with repeated arch motif and three hoof feet, hallmarked Birmingham 1969. Gross weight 5.02 ozt (142.3 grams). (3).

Condition Report
All four pieces in the lot display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Also remnants of polish to some. The heart dish is quite heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish. There are splits and cracks in the metal, mainly visible around the edge of the heart base. Other splits, tears and creases in the metal around the main rim. On the pair of asymmetrical dishes, there are some general dints and creases to the rims and the metal is folded over in places. On one of these dishes, there is a large tear to the rim. The hallmarks are all clear and legible.
