A late nineteenth century Dutch silver tobacco box, of scrolling rectangular outline, the lid engraved with a cartouche of two smoking figures at a coffee table, to the bulbous body engraved with rural town scenes and floral engraved base. Monogram to inside of lid. Key stamp. Maker's mark 'FM' within a heart-shape surround. Length 5 3/8 inches. (13.8 cm). Weight 4.55 ozt (141.7 grams).

Fair to good overall condition with scratches, small dents and tarnish in keeping with general wear. Splits to the back and base, associated discolouration. Some green discolouration to interior. Black discolouration. May require professional clean. Small dents to sides.
