A George III pair of silver open salts by Matthew Boulton, each of hemispherical form, raised on three lion paw and scrolling floral feet, to the inverted lip and gadrooned rim. Hallmarked Matthew Boulton, Birmingham 1818. Maximum diameter 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm). Weight (excluding blue glass liners) 9.57 ozt (297.84 grams).

Condition Report
Good overall condition with scratches, minor dents and tarnish in keeping with age and use. Varying black spotting to inside and waisted rim. Some slight green discolouration to the lip of one salt. Hallmarks worn but legible. Maker's mark clear and legible.
