Lot Description

An early twentieth century German Hanau casket, the oblong form highly decorated with various putti scenes and Satyr mask mounted scroll feet. Marks for Friedrich Reusswig, Hanau, alongside the standard mark of 800. Maximum length including feet measuring 9 3/4 inches (24.5 cm), weight 41 ozt (1284 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.

Areas of heavy tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. Minor dints and bumps. A little rubbing and loss of definition to the decoration. German hallmarks to the underside of the body only are a little distorted.
