Lot Description

A Sampson Mordan 9ct gold mounted scent bottle, of plain cylindrical form with a suspension chain and clear glass stopper. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London 1899. Maximum height measures 2 3/4 inches (7 cm).

The bottle appears in fairly good condition with some general surface scratches, marks and wear commensurate with the age and use.  Also some minor surface dints and nicks and a visible seam line.  Hinge and clasp in working order. Suspension chain appears unmarked.  Hallmarks are located to interior of lid and underside of bottle.  All are legible, although maker's mark to underside is rubbed and partly distorted.
