Lot Description
A George III silver tankard of tapered form with initialled body, domed and stepped lid to the pierced thumb piece, scrolling handle and raised on a flared footed base. Hallmarked London 1778 with the maker's mark IK tentatively attributed to John King. Height measuring 7 1/2 inches (19 cm), weight 27.6 ozt (861 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
The oval panel which is the lower join of the handle has come away a little. The hallmarks are rubbed but clearly legible, maker's mark partly obscured.
