A late Victorian silver christening mug, the straight sided tapered body, with a central asymmetrical embossed band of floral scroll and diaper, surrounding a central engraved cartouche, beaded rims and scroll handle. Hallmarked London 1897, maker's mark indistinct. Height measuring 3 1/8 inches (8 cm), weight 4.6 ozt (146 grams).

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Detail to the embossing has rubbed. Acid test and file mark to the bottom rim. Hallmarks significantly rubbed.
