Lot Description
A Victorian silver aide memoire, of rectangular form with scrolling floral engraving to the front and back and a central vacant shield cartouche, opening to reveal a leather interior with ivory insert, hallmarked Birmingham 1892, maker's mark obscured. Together with a plain silver cigarette case with shaped edges, hallmarked F H Adams Ltd, Birmingham 1910. Length of aide memoire 4 1/8 inches (10.5 cm), weight of cigarette box 2.57 ozt (73.1 grams).

Condition Report
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. There are small dents to the aide memoire, the clasp and hinge work but it does not close fully. The leather interior has some wear and staining, one small scratch. The full set of hallmarks to the reverse are almost completely rubbed, the maker's mark has been scratched away. The cigarette case is heavily dented with several scratches. The hinge works well, the hallmarks are clear and the maker's mark is partially rubbed.
