Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case, of oblong shape with bright cut engraved leaves to both sides, hallmarked Joseph Gloster, Birmingham 1899, height measuring 4 cm. Together with a larger continental example with possible French export mark and maker's mark in lozenge shape punch, height measuring 6 cm. Combined gross weight 52 grams. (2).

Condition Report
Both items display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. More wear around edges. Some small surface bumps and dints visible to the Victorian vesta and the lid is rising slightly in the closed position. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The hinge and clasp on the continental example are in working order.
