Lot Description
A 19th century French porcelain mounted gilt brass and ormolu mantel clock, Vincenti & Cie Paris, retailed by Richard & Cie, the 6" x 4" Sevres style porcelain panel front having a 3.5-inch white Roman chapter ring framing a centre painted with a bird swooping towards a nest of eggs, above a further panel of lovers on a riverbank, reserved on a gilt enriched mazarin blue ground, the two train movement with 1855 Medaille d'Argent exhibition stamp, Richard & Cie caduceus mark, number 275 and 'FABRIQUE DE PARIS' oval stamp, striking on a coiled blued steel gong, the architectural case with domed surmount, urn finials and foliate double baluster columns on toupie feet, 13" (33cm) high, with pendulum and winder, on a giltwood plinth, circular wooden base and beneath a circular glass dome, 19" (48cm) high overall.
