Condition Report
Both casters display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some small dints and bumps to both including some larger ones to some of the edges and corners of the later caster. Also knocks to the foot rims. On the George II caster, the chased decoration is possibly later. There is also some damage and likely repairs around the top of the cover, and there are several splits and cracks in the metal. The hallmarks on the later caster are clear and legible. Some partial distortion to hallmarks on the George II caster but they are still mainly legible. Corresponding hallmarks and part hallmarks to both covers.
