Lot Description
A Victorian silver vinaigrette by Nathaniel Mills, the oblong form with scrolled edge and decorated throughout with floral, foliate and scroll motifs, surrounding a vacant cartouche to the top and an engraved cartouche to the base depicting a pheasant, the lid opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior and a foliate scroll pierced grilled with conforming shaped edge. Hallmarked Birmingham 1839. Measuring 4 cm by 3 cm, weight 28 grams.

Condition Report
The vinaigrette appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some deeper scratches and nicks are visible to some areas. The decoration appears crisp and bright with minimal loss of detail. Remnants of polish to interior. Hinges are in working order. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
