Lot Description

A late 19th century lacquered brass monocular microscope, E. Leitz, Wetzlar, No. 19851, the main tube with a full set of interchangeable eyepieces and objectives, rack and pinion coarse focusing plus stem with fine adjustment, over circular stage, condenser and mirror, the base inscribed as above, 11" (28cm) high, in original mahogany box with plaque of C. BAKER, 243 & 244 HIGH HOLBORN, LONDON, the door stamped 19851 as per microscope, the box 13.75" (35cm high) excluding brass carry handle.
