An early 18th century style oak cased 8-day longcase clock of slender proportions, retailed by Swinden & Sons, London, the 8-inch break arched dial with Roman hours, Arabic minutes and cruciform half hour divisions, framing foliate scroll work, within baroque mask spandrels, the arch with 'Father Time' boss, the knopped four pillar movement rack striking on a bell, the case with ogee caddy top over turned columns, long trunk door and plain base on ogee bracket feet, label of 'Swinden & Sons 27, 28 & 29 Temple Street Birmingham', 84" (213cm) high.
