Lot Description

An early 20th century 18ct gold ruby and diamond band ring. The cushion-shape ruby and single-cut diamond sides, inset to the asymmetric surround and scrolling shoulders. Hallmarks for Birmingham, 1911. Weight 4.1gms.

Overall condition good to fair. Surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear. Some localised deeper scratches to the band. Diamonds individual size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.  Estimated total diamond weight 0.05ct. The diamonds are bright. Light nicks and chips present. Fine feathers and fractures can be seen under magnification. The ruby is a medium red hue. Abrasion to the facet edges and typical inclusions present. Ring size P1/2.
