Lot Description

A pair of Japanese Meiji period satsuma miniature vases, each of bulbous hexagonal form, finely painted with two narrative panels, one of figures on a shoreline before Mount Fuji, and of figures at a table on a terrace, the other with figures before a wooden river bridge, and bijin before a pavilion, satsuma mon and four character 'seal' mark, one with old Japanese ink on paper label beneath, 3.5" (9cm) high, each on carved wooden stand, 4" (10cm) high overall.
