Lot Description
A good late George III mahogany-cased 8-day longcase clock, (George) Flashman, London, (fl. c. 1790-1815), of domestic regulator type, the 12-inch silvered circular dial with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing subsidiary seconds dial over engraved makers name 'FLASHMAN LONDON', with blued steel hands, the gut-driven four pillar movement with anchor escapement and wheels of four crossings, rack-striking on a bell, the high quality case with brass ball finial to the podium surmount over ogee caddy top and break-arched hood with fretted hinged side doors and gilt stop-fluted canted corners, upon conforming trunk and base, 84" (214cm) high.

Condition Report
Dial- Lightly tarnished but overall very good condition. Movement- One pillar trimmed to accommodate flywheel, packing to seat board. Not a 'true' regulator (not a dead-beat). Case- Only one (assoc.) finial present, minor cracks to hood, slight trunk door warping, very light horizontal crease (dip) to base. Sold with wooden rod pendulum (brass bob), two brass-sleeved weights, two keys, one winder.
