Lot Description
An Elizabeth I silver Apostle spoon, stamped '1515' to the stem, traces of gilding to the Apostle terminal with radiant nimbus. Hallmarked London 1598, anchor maker's mark, see English Goldsmiths and their marks, Jackson, London goldsmith's marks 1594-5. Length measuring 6 7/8 inches (17.5 cm), weight 1.3 ozt (43.5 grams).

Condition Report
Some expected rubbing with loss of definition to the Apostle, bowl and details of the spoon. Traces of gilding to the terminal. There is a little wear to the bowl edges. 'V' joint visible to the top of the stem/base of the terminal plinth, the reverse join with some pitting. Minor dints. The hallmarks appear in varied state, the leopards head to the inner bowl is clear and legible, further marks to the stem are partly rubbed/worn, but considering age are in good condition.
