Lot Description
A fine early 19th century Blue John (Derbyshire Spa) urn and pedestal, the former of neoclassical ovoid form with acorn finial and ribbed domed ornament on spreading socle, the whole with good variegated tones of violet, pink and cream on black slate plinth and Blue John square pedestal with good striations, white onyx mouldings and slate plinth, 11.5" (29cm) high overall.

Condition Report
A few minor losses to lowest reeded band beneath finial. Fairly chipped around rim of body, a little to foot and a little to one edge of pedestal. Could be ground and polished. Finial possibly reglued into place, body made of two pieces.
