Lot 443

Lot Description

A turn of the century white metal and jade condiment set, comprising an open salt, the cylindrical mutton fat jade bowl with gilt interior and detachable rope-twist mount, atop a floral embossed base on three scrolling foliate feet, with associated spoon and similarly designed pepperette. Height of pepperette (including lid) 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Good to fair overall condition. Wear to gilt finish. Spoon shows slight bends to the stem. The jade cylinder to the salt appears very slightly lop-sided. The cylinder to the salt is slightly indented to one part of the rim, possibly to mostly erase a small area of discolouration.
