Lot 1025

Lot Description

A small walnut chest of three long drawers.
Principally mid 18th century
The moulded rectangular top over three oak-lined cockbeaded drawers with Chippendale-style pierced backplate bale handles on bracket feet, 25.25" x 17" x 26.5" high, (64cm x 43cm x 67cm)

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

General dark scarcthes (including one sever) plus dints to top and sides.
Slight shrinkage to top (grain runs side to side, and so the side mouldings protrude past the back edge)
Drilled holes in the back of the drawer fronts (these do not come through the front)
Crack to lower half of one side.
Proportions suggest potentially concocted from period timbers, but drawer linings all appear to be old, bracket feet are hand-cut and period, etc..
