Lot Description
A nineteenth century continental snuff box of rounded rectangular form with punched borders and floral and scroll engraving to the hinged lid. Struck marks partly distorted but probably Belgium assay marks for 800 fineness. Length measuring 8.8 cm, gross weight 71.7 grams.

Condition Report
The box displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. General dints and bumps. Heavier wear around edges and corners including numerous splits in the seam line around the base rim. Also splits around the edges and corners of the lid. Repairs and reinforced metal to the interior. The struck marks are quite rubbed and partly distorted.
