Lot 188

Lot Description

An Edwardian small silver hot milk or chocolate pot, of plain baluster form to a spread footed base, with foliate detail to spout, stained wood scroll handle and an acorn finial to the domed and hinged lid, hallmarked Charles Boyton (II) or (III), London 1901. Together with a slightly later silver hot water pot, hallmarked Josiah Williams & Co (David Landsborough Fullerton), Birmingham 1919. Gross weight 22.97 ozt (714.5 grams). (2).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both pots display general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to Edwardian pot and both would benefit from a clean and polish. Some dints and bumps, especially a couple of larger ones to the lower body of the Edwardian pot. The hinged lid on this pot does not sit flush so that there is a gap remaining when closed. The finial is slightly compressed. The hinges on the other lid are a little loose. The hallmarks and maker's marks appear a little rubbed but all are legible, corresponding part hallmarks to lids.
