A George III silver soup ladle in plain Old English pattern. Hallmarked Hester Bateman, London 1787. Length measures 13 1/4 inches (33.5 cm), weight 4.88 ozt (151.7 grams).

Condition Report
The ladle displays general wear including surface scratching, scuffs, contact marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Also pitted marks to some areas. The bowl has faired quite well, although the metal does feel thinner towards the edges and is very slightly misshapen. The hallmarks are clear and legible, slight distortion to edge of maker's mark but it is still clearly legible.
