Am early Victorian silver snuff box by Nathaniel Mills, the oblong form with engine-turned decoration, floral thumb-piece, crested and initialled hinged cover opening to a silver-gilt interior. Hallmarked Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1846. Length measuring 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm), weight 3.5 ozt (109 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Hinge in good working order. Some wear with loss to the scroll decoration surrounding the cartouche. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
