A 19th century mahogany-cased apothecary box
The hinged rectangular cover with brass cartouche and screws, stamped to the underside lining 'LEATH & ROSS 9 VERE STREET AND 5 ST. PAUL'S CHURCHYARD. CHEMISTS BY APPOINTMENT TO THE LONDON HOMEOPATHIC HOSPITAL', over sixteen compartments each with square glass bottle having label 'SKINNER'S BOERICKE & TAFEL', with further compartments over base drawer with flush-fitted handle, 8" x 5" x 5" high, (20cm x 12.5cm x 12.5cm).
