Condition Report
Dial – minor dark scratches and small blemishes but overall good. The lower right subsidiary dial has some enamel losses and cracks.
Movement – Backplate is in two sections, a circular top half over a rectangular bottom half with dip to top edge.
Some small nicks to edges of top plate between 1 and 2. Cut-out for the nest of bells between 9 and 11.
Movement is triple chain fusee with verge and crownwheel escapement. The pendulum is a later and shorter example (does not extend to cut-away in floor of case). This suggests that the movement has been adapted or transferred.
Automaton is functioning.
Case – some structural alterations eg inside edge of case rebated to allow hammers to recoil. Handles repinned.
