An early George III oak cased 8-day longcase clock.
Humphrey Jennens, Halesowen, circa 1770.
The 11-inch square brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes plus inner quarter hour track and fleur de lis half hour divisions framing a matted centre with silvered penny moon over terrestrial calendar square within scroll-engraved surround, the gilt baroque mask spandrels within engraved border, the knopped four-pillar movement striking on a bell, the case with cavetto-moulded flat hood, fretwork frieze and sunken barley twist columns over long trunk door with lenticle, plain base and plinth, 84.25", (214cm) high (sold with two weights, pendulum, key and winder)

Dial - VGC.
Movement - Penny moon and calendar are both operational. Later horizontal strap fixes front plate to dial pins. The two bells are vertically-mounted. A few unused holes to plates. Extra long side runners act as extra stability for seatboard
Case - Later hood frieze (brass fretwork). Small infill to trunk from previous door handle - lenticle probably later. Otherwise VGC.
