A George III silver mug, the classic baluster form with later personal inscription, standing on a stepped circular foot and with leaf capped scrolling handle. Hallmarked John Scofield, London 1776. Height measuring 5 inches (13 cm), weight 11.3 ozt (352 grams).

The lot displays general scratches, marks wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Handle compression visible to the interior. Some dents to foot and wobbles slightly. Previous engraving has been removed before being re-engraved, this area does feel thin. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
