Lot Description
An early twentieth century silver mounted and tortoiseshell part dressing table set comprising a hand mirror, a pair of hair brushes, a pair of clothes brushes and a comb, with flower, ribbon and reed border and further decorated with a floral basket to the tortoiseshell back. Hallmarked London 1917 and 1918 with maker's mark C & A. Height of mirror measures 11 1/8 inches (28.2 cm).

Condition Report
All the pieces display some general wear, surface scratches and marks commensurate with the age and use. Also some tarnishing to the silver. Various small surface dints and bumps. Areas of heavier wear and marks to tortoiseshell and one of the hair brushes in particular displays a large crack. Brushes are in a worn and used state. Some quite heavy scratches to mirror plate. Rubbing and distortion to some of the hallmarks but mostly legible.
