A late Victorian silver presentation trowel, having engraved oval plaque within foliate scrollwork to the tapering and lobed blade leading to the associated silver handle having stiff leaf terminal, the blade hallmarked T.W, London 1894, the handle hallmarked Crisford & Norris Ltd., Birmingham 1899, overall length measures 9 5/8 inches (24.5 cm). Together with a late Victorian silver plated presentation trowel having ivory handle, marked for William Hutton & Sons, length measures 13 inches (33 cm). Silver weight 3.67 ozt (114.17 grams). (2).

Silver example displaying wear and tarnishing throughout, with slight distortion to blade at base of stem and light rubbing to associated handle. Hallmarks throughout are clear and legible. Plated example also displaying wear to blade with surface scratches. Please note this description has been updated, and that the handle is ivory, not faux ivory.
