Lot Description

An early Victorian silver cream jug, the bulbous form having an engraved crest and motto within foliate scroll surround, further foliate motifs to the scroll handle and feet. Hallmarked Charles Reily & George Storer, London 1845. Height inclusive of handle measures 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cm), weight 7.12 ozt (221.3 grams).

The jug appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general wear, surface marks and scratches. Also some tarnishing. The interior was possibly once gilded but this is now faded. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
