Lot Description

A George V silver bud vase, having wide scalloped rim above the hexagonal tapering stem raised upon a knopped circular foot, hallmarked Sanders & Mackenzie (Ernst Wilfred Sanders & Henry Arthur Mackenzie), Birmingham 1919, height measures 9 inches (23 cm). Together with a 1920's silver inkwell having hinged cover over the spreading circular base and with engine-turned decoration to the whole, hallmarked I M Hutchfield, Birmingham 1920, diameter measures 6 inches (15.25 cm). Each in poor condition displaying heavy tarnishing throughout and bases filled to each. Vase is at fault with compression to rim causing distortion and splitting, and with other knocks and dents particularly to foot rim. Ink well with dents and distortion to hinged cover, and large dent to rim. Hallmarks to each are worn and rubbed but still legible.
