An imposing 18th century French boulle bracket clock with bracket
Le Baigue, Paris
The 8.75-inch dial having a cellular Roman chapter ring, with outer Arabic minutes, framing a matted centre decorated with figural terms and scrollwork, the two-train movement, with silk suspension, having five urn-shaped pillars, outside countwheel-striking on a bell surmount, the backplate engraved 'Le Baigue AParis', the case with angel trumpeter finial and caddy top with boulle and contra-boulle panels over cast mounts and foliate scroll brass inlay framing a cast arched door with seated Muse to base, raised on four leaf-cast spreading feet, the rear door with fine cut brass inlay, the internal floor with perspective chequerboard, 38", (96.5cm) high, together with a well-matched bracket of inverted breakfront form with cast edge, flowerhead-inlaid underside and urn-shaped base with cast mask framed by scroll buttresses having cast mounts and foliate inlay to a cast vine terminal, 14.5" high, overall 52.5", (133.5cm) high, (2).

Dial - could be a later association - brass is quite thin, cellular numeral appear very fresh.
Movement seems sound. Pensulum potentially later (normally have cast bob).
Case - finial may be associated.General minor cracking to veneer.
Bracket has similarities of inlay but may be associated. General cracking and wear but overall still sound.
