A good George III Irish inlaid mahogany longcase clock
William Maddock, Waterford, the 13-inch square brass dial having Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing subsidiary seconds dial over engraved foliate scrollwork and maker's name "Wm. Maddock WATERFORD" flanking calendar aperture, all within cast rococo spandrels, the later movement rack-striking on a bell, the finely inlaid case having a swan-neck pediment with bat's wing medallions and shell patera over swag-inlaid satinwood frieze, the flued columns flanking a satinwood-strung door, the trunk with fluted quadrant columns flanking a long door inlaid with an urn issuing flowers, within bat's wing spandrels and laurel border, on conforming base and ogee bracket feet, 97", (246cm) high.

Dial - very light scratching but overall VGC.
Movement - C19th movement, but no packing to cheeks. Sold woth two weights but pendulum.
Case - trunk door detached but present. One side of ogee foot detached but present. Some veneer cracking tp base but generally good.
