An Italian Bassano Maiolica 'istoriato' tureen and cover, the oval cover with moulded vegetable finial over views of riverside buildings, the body decorated with reclining figures between female term handles on four scroll supports, yellow crown mark beneath, inscribed Bassano, 15.5" across handles x 12.75" high, (39.5cm x 32.5cm) (s/d).
