A mid-19th century tortoiseshell and gold necessaire. Of rectangular outline, the hinged cover opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising thimble, scissors, needle case, etc., with three inset spools, 5.5" x 0.75" x 4" (14cm x 4.5cm x 10cm). (a/f).
