Lot Description

A mid-Victorian silver-gilt mounted glass vanity jar, having engraved initials within a textured border to the removable cover, hallmarked Frederic Purnell, London 1876, length measures 7 inches (17.25 cm). Together with a similar later example, a mid-Victorian mother-of-pearl handled silver bladed fruit knife, two Edwardian silver handled button hooks, an Edwardian silver hair pin, a late Victorian silver mounted desk calendar, plus a silver cased ballpoint pen.

The lot appears in overall fair condition. Covers to both glass jars with minor dints and surface scratching. Button hooks with heavy wear to metal hooks. Fruit knife with small crack to mother-of-pearl and slight distortion to form. Calendar with small dints throughout and heavy wear to backing and lining.
