Lot Description
A Victorian silver mounted Book of Common Prayer, the gilt-edged pages within a velvet lined cover with a silver border mount and silver clasp having a raised heart motif set with turquoise cabochons and seed pearls. Hallmarked Charles Rawlings & William Summers, London 1843. Length measuring 5 7/8 inches (15 cm).

Condition Report
The prayer book appears in fairly good overall condition displaying some general surface wear and marks in keeping with the age and use. Some tarnishing to silver mounts and an assumed silver cross is missing from the front. The hinge and clasp closure appears in good working condition. Some of the turquoise stones are a little discoloured and repairs to seed pearls. The velvet cover is generally in quite good condition but displaying some heavier wear to the spine. The gilt-edged pages appear in good condition. Hallmarked to all silver parts, mostly clearly legible.
