Lot Description
A late Victorian silver double sovereign case, of plain oblong form having engraved initials and date, opening to reveal dual full and half sovereign apertures, hallmarked Sheffield 1898, length measures 2 3/8 inches (6 cm). Together with a 1920's silver match holder having chamfered edges and vacant rectangular cartouche to the textured exterior, opening to reveal a gilt interior, hallmarked F H Adams & Co., Birmingham 1928, and a George III silver snuff box having engraved stag crest within spiralling foliage to the flush hinged cover, opening to reveal a vacant interior, hallmarked I T, Birmingham 1786. Condition Report
The lot appears in overall fair to poor condition. Sovereign case with small dints and minor surface scratching to exterior, the hinge is in working order and is hallmarked to hinged cover only. Match holder with minor surface rubbing to exterior and scratching to interior. Snuff box in poor condition with damage, dents and compression to form and split beside back right hand corner of cover. Hallmarks are legible although partly worn to snuff box.
