Lot Description
A mid-Victorian silver mounted inkstand, the cut glass inkwell sat upon the wooden base having a florally engraved silver mount modelled as an artist's palette and raised upon four bun feet. Hallmarked Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd., Birmingham 1886. Overall height measures 2 6/8 inches (7 cm).

Condition Report
The inkstand appears in good to fair condition displaying general light rubbing and tarnishing to silver mounts. The hinge to the cover is slightly loose and the glass body has few minor chips. The wooden base with few small knocks. Hallmarks are clear throughout excluding date letter to base mount which is rubbed and illegible, but with full and part hallmarks to the hinged cover.
