Lot Description

A nineteenth century silver stand, in the form of a sleigh or sledge, the three long bars with scrolled terminals. Hallmarked Carrington & Co (John Bodman Carrington), London 1885 with the Foreign mark, also with French assay and maker's marks. Maximum length measures 9 5/8 inches (24.5 cm), weight 4.84 ozt (150.6 grams).

The stand displays general wear and tarnishing and would benefit from a clean and polish. Surface marks and scratches and one of the long bars is bent inwards at one end. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
