Lot Description
Two silver napkin rings of circular form, one with Greek-key border, the other with embossed wreath enclosing a number three, the smaller hallmarked Ari D Norman, London 1988, the larger example hallmarked Gorham Manufacturing Co, Birmingham Import 1905. Together with a pair of plain silver sugar tongs, hallmarked John Sanderson & Son Ltd., Sheffield 1934 and a cased silver commemorative medallion depicting a semi-nude male with dagger and shield, hallmarked Birmingham 1951, probably Baker & Staniforth, Gross weight 2.3 ozt (72 grams). Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The larger napkin ring has some loss of definition to the embossed decoration, it is also marked Sterling silver. The smaller napkin ring is skewed in shape causing distortion, it also has the common control mark 925, no personal engravings. The medallion is engraved to the back 'THE STAR' Fifth Annual Carol Festival For Odeon - Gaumont Children's Cinema Clubs 1951 Winners Odeon, Brentwood, David Staines.' Hallmarks are clear and legible, slightly indistinct maker's mark on the medallion.
