Lot Description

A George III silver pepper, of part fluted ovoid form having a conforming pierced cover and raised upon a spreading circular foot, hallmarked Henry Chawner & John Eames, London 1796, height measures 3 3/8 inches (8.5 cm). Together with another similar George III silver pepper having an engraved falcon crest and gallery piercing, John Emes, London 1803, 3 1/8 inches (8 cm). Gross weight 3.14 ozt (97.7 grams). (2).

The first listed example is in fair condition although with few small knocks to the cover causing some distortion and some areas of light scratching. The second listed example with knock to cover causing distortion and slight damage to piercing and with some areas of light scratching. Hallmarks to each are clear and legible.
