Lot Description

An Edwardian silver card case, the slim oblong form with flat hinged end cover, engraved central monogram and scrolling thumb-piece, hallmarked London 1902, maker's mark partially indistinct, possibly H W? & A ?, length measures 8.5 cm. Together with three 1970's silver mounted folding fruit knives with engraved and engine-turned decoration, two with vacant cartouche, one with scissor accessory, hallmarked S J Rose & Son, Birmingham 1972 & 1977, plus a base metal fruit knife. (4).

In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing to the edges of the card case, monogram possibly 'D A'. Scrolling thumb-piece moves but requires attention as the spring mechanism is not self-opening the hinged cover. Fruit knives in good working order, knives retracting well, minor remnants of dirt on the steel blades. Hallmarks clear and legible apart from the maker's maker on the card case which is partially indistinct, possibly 'H W? & A ?'.
