A Victorian Aesthetic Movement silver vinaigrette, the oblong form with canted corners engraved with various scenes of a spider and web and a fan amidst reeds, opening to a silver-gilt interior with foliate pierced grille. Hallmarked Birmingham 1878, with the maker's mark D&M. Length measuring 3.5 cm, weight 27.2 grams.
